Before you continue please read this statement. This is not up for discussion. We are the one and only American Orthodox Catholic Church - (short name for) The Holy Eastern Orthodox Catholic and Apostolic Church in North America that was canonically chartered by the Russian Synod in North America and headed by Archbishop Aftimios Ofiesh. This Church continues today. We are the original 1928 corporation!
Clergy: This Church seeks good active clergy who are Orthodox and have an active ministry, Who are without a bishop or bishops who can no longer serve their (former) Church and who desire being part of the one true canonically established American Jurisdiction.
All the independent groups who claim to be us by using one of our names, claiming to be us but under another name and who claim to be us based on their lines that trace back to Ignatius Nichols are in no way associated with us, are not us and have no apostolic succession from us. We deny they are even Orthodox! Since we exist and continue they cannot be us. When they or the ethnic schismatic jurisdictions attack us and Abp. Ofiesh of blessed memory they prove their unchristian nature by their actions!
RE: Ecumenical Patriarch - According to Canon IX of the 30c "The Bishop of Constantinople has no authority to officiate in the Dioceses, Parishes or Districts of the other Patriarchs.
Also the canon goes on to say that "No one, even a Metropolitan or Patriarch, has any right to impose anything upon churches outside his jurisdiction".
We do not recognize any SCOBA Church due to the Schism they created in 1929 that continues today.
We are looking for well educated Orthodox clergy who wish to transfer to this canonically established American Church that is the only Eastern Orthodox jurisdiction with valid sacramental authority in the New World (North America). Since the SCOBA churches are Schismatic and in the past accepted our clergy without the required letters we today can accept their clergy without letters due to their schismatic status.
Archbishop Victor is president of The Holy Eastern Orthodox Catholic and Apostolic Church in North America and was Metropolitan for over 10 years. We have since done away with the Office of Metropolitan..
Abp. Victor has spent most of his time in THEOCACNA defending the Church from all the independents who claimed they are this church under a different name, they claim to be in our lines, and on occasion someone thinks the laws do not apply to them and they will incorporate somewhere using our name or take our name and/or service mark and claim they are us. It seems like many are only playing church and are more interested in getting our name for the recognition they feel it will bring them. We have always come out on top.
We are the one and only Church that was canonically established by the Russian Synod in North America and headed by Abp. Aftimios Ofiesh of blessed memory until he reposed in 1966.
We are that Church, the original 1928 corporation and Synod of this Church. We are not part of the independent movement.
Mariam Ofiesh sat on the corporate board of tustees until 1999. She reposed in 2000.
If anyone claims to be a bishop of this Church or the head of this Church please verify it by contacting any of our bishops to verify they are our clergy. Many in the independent movement make false claims and in fact have no sacramental authority, at least not from this Church. You should consider any marking such false claims as liars if they are not on the synod link we mention above or after contacting us you discover they are not priests of this Church. We suggest you avoid dealing with any such people
The law does not require a continous registration of a service or trademark. Use and ownership for 5 years gives you full ownership. We have had the name since 1927 and claim commonlaw ownership since 1932. We claim Ownership under the law since we registered the name with the USPTO in 2000 and our service mark (name and logo) were legally ours as of January 2005. 15 USC 1065
