The "®" shows our name is our service mark duly Registered with the U.S. Patent Trademark Office.

The Holy Eastern Orthodox Catholic and Apostolic Church in North America® was established Feb. 2, 1927 by the Russian Orthodox Synod of Bishops in North America as the first and only American Orthodox Catholic Church whose synod was supposed to consist of the ranking bishops of the various jurisdictions.

Today we have both eastern and western rite liturgies within the Church but by far the western rite is more popular among american born orthodox christians.

We were established as a canonical autocephalous orthodox Church. We continue today as that same Church and corporation that was established with Archbishop Aftimios Ofiesh as first Archbishop President.

The synod has since voted the "Archbishop President" shall use the title Metropolitan.

We have other pages that give more information about this Church and about others claiming to be associated with us or even using our name claiming to be us.

If your in doubt as to another Church or clergy being associated with us or even a valid or canonical Church we would be happy to assist you and help verify that Church or clergy. Feel free to contact us.

NOTE: If your in contact with a church and they claim Archbishop Aftimios Ofiesh headed their church, founded their church, established their church or that they are this Church but with a different Metropolitan (presiding bishop), do not believe the story. He headed only one Church and that was The Holy Eastern Orthodox Catholic and Apostolic Church in North America® chartered or instituted on Feb. 2, 1927 by the Russian Synod of Bishops in North America (under the Moscow Patriarch) and incorporated by Abp. Aftimios and seven others in Boston, MA. on Feb. 1, 1928 and we are that Church.
